World Food Program
In collaboration with World Food Program USA and the U.N. World Food Programme, Food For The Poor is addressing chronic malnutrition by supporting school meal programs in El Salvador. Through this partnership, we are providing Biofortik, a highly effective iron-fortified supplement, to 60,000 children in the Sonsonate region. Additionally, we are working to replace imported foods in school meals with locally grown produce, fostering both better nutrition and stronger local economies.World Food Program USA, a strategic partner of Food For The Poor, spearheads fundraising, advocacy, and engagement efforts across the United States in support of the U.N. World Food Programme’s mission to combat hunger. Together, we provide essential food assistance and implement sustainable solutions to address global food insecurity.
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has been on the frontlines of the world’s worst hunger crises, fighting hunger and famine since 1962. This year, WFP is aiming to provide lifesaving meals to 140 million of the world’s most vulnerable people in more than 120 countries and territories.
World Vision
In a meaningful collaboration, Food For The Poor and World Vision have united to support the most vulnerable families in rural El Salvador. This impactful initiative aims to strengthen food security and nutrition for 396 families by promoting sustainable agricultural practices and providing educational workshops. Together, they are empowering communities with the tools and knowledge needed to build a healthier, more self-sufficient future.
The Republic of China (Taiwan)
Food For The Poor’s partnership with the Taiwanese government goes back to 2007.The rice donation is part of Taiwan’s efforts to promote international cooperation and strengthen ties with nations in Latin America, especially in the areas of humanitarian aid and development.
In 2024 the Republic of China donated 9,240 metric tons of rice to Food For The Poor's hunger relief programs and 8,000 metric tons in 2023.
Cáritas Arquidiocesana
Cáritas Arquidiocesana is a charitable organization operating under the auspices of the Catholic Church, dedicated to serving vulnerable populations through various social and humanitarian programs. As part of the global Cáritas network, it works to address pressing issues such as poverty, hunger, social inequality, and disaster relief within its local community and beyond.The organization focuses on providing direct aid, promoting social justice, and fostering sustainable development. Its programs often include food distribution, education initiatives, healthcare services, and capacity-building projects to empower individuals and families to improve their living conditions.
The CEPUDO Foundation
The CEPUDO Foundation oversees all of Food For The Poor's projects in Honduras, and much of the distribution of goods sent by Food For The Poor to that country. CEPUDO operates a number of education and community centers that provide the impoverished communities of Honduras with workshops and training classes.
